Moschino has dished up biker ballerinas and stunning florals for spring/summer 2018. The Italian luxury fashion brand, helmed by Jeremy Scott, presented as part of Milan Fashion Week on Thursday night.
Subverting girlhood iconography by incorporating edgier elements, the designer had model Kaia Gerber open the show wearing an ice-blue feathered ballerina tutu, black leather biker jacket, a T-shirt with a My Little Pony image splashed across the front and leather boots.
Bella Hadid followed wearing a sleeveless pink top, a black tulle tutu, black gloves and fishnet tights, while her older sister Gigi Hadid rocked a bright pink strapless dress with feathered skirt complemented by a black biker jacket and heavy leather boots.
Scott also offered up leather jackets with spikes across the sleeves, sweater dresses with cartoons printed across the front, a pale blue tracksuit worn with a tutu skirt and leather corsets.
A white tutu with gold embroidery could have been straight out of Swan Lake, but the designer ramped up the punk flavour by accessorising it with biker boots and a leather studded choker necklace.
While florals are nothing new for the spring months, Moschino's latest range took the concept to the extreme. For the eveningwear section of the presentation, Scott had model Anna Cleveland sport a waterlily-inspired look, with her dress featuring a bright green silk skirt and pink petals across the bodice.
Kaia once again rocked the runway in an orchid-influenced ballgown dyed in a brilliant violet, while another model donned a gown that was evocative of a white Calla lily. Models also wore dresses inspired by irises and roses, with one even wearing a nude jumpsuit entirely covered in faux flowers.
Scott concluded the show by having Gigi return to the catwalk dressed as an actual bouquet, with flower stems placed all around her face, while her body was wrapped in a white chiffon dress tied with a red bow.
