Audrey Hepburn's clothes, jewellery, and film scripts are currently being auctioned at Christie's in London. On Wednesday, the auction house opened its sale, which includes over 400 pieces from the late icon's personal collection, including a pair of Givenchy earrings, scripts from films such as Breakfast at Tiffany's, and a belted Burberry trench coat, which is expected to fetch up to £8,000.

"We are thrilled to have been entrusted with the sale of items from Audrey Hepburn's personal collection," said Adrian Hume-Sayer, Head of Sales at Christie's. "Her name is one that instantly resonates, and her appeal and relevance remain as strong today as they ever were."

The late star's two sons, Luca Dotti and Sean Hepburn Ferrer, selected a collection of her items to share with her "ever-growing base of admirers". They said: "On January 20th, 1993 we lost our mother and best friend and the world lost an enduring symbol of grace, elegance and humanity. In an effort to include all who partake in these feelings for her, we have selected a collection of items to share with her ever-growing base of admirers."

As well as the main in-house auction in September, the sale will also include an online element which will run until 3rd October.

On Tuesday, Christie's Head of Sales Adrian appeared on ITV's This Morning to showcase some of the items being sold off at the auction. These included a tiara worn by the actress in the 1967 film, Two For The Road, in which she starred as Joanna Wallace.

The head piece, which is expected to fetch up to £9,000, went down particularly well with co-host Holly Willoughby, who asked if she could wear it throughout the segment - at one point even pretending to run off with it. The star later took to her Instagram page to share a photo of her modelling the tiara, captioning it: "When you get to wear an icon's tiara."
