Cate Blanchett stole the spotlight in a gold dress at the Thor: Ragnarok premiere on Tuesday night. The Australian actress takes on the character of Hela, the Asgardian goddess of death, in the latest instalment of Marvel's superhero franchise. Cate led celebrities in hitting the red carpet at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood, and stood out in a yellow sequin Gucci dress with flared sleeves, high neck and cinched in waist. The 48-year-old accessorised the ensemble with a necklace featuring light green jewels and dark green velvet high heels.
But Cate wasn't the only star to sport gold at the bash, as Tessa Thompson also wore a dark yellow gown. The actress, who portrays tough warrior Valkyrie in the flick, wowed in a strapless Schiaparelli Couture gown with sweetheart neckline and crystal embellished belt at the waist.
Chris Hemsworth plays the titular character in Thor: Ragnarok, and opted for a stylish navy blue suit for the event, which he matched with a white shirt. The actor was joined at the event by his wife Elsa Pataky, who looked lovely in a strapless black gown, as well as his younger brother Liam Hemsworth and his fiance Miley Cyrus, who walked hand-in-hand as they made a rare appearance together.
Tom Hiddleston, who reprises his role as Loki in the flick, donned a red and blue chequered suit for the bash and a scruffy bearded look, while Hulk actor Mark Ruffalo looked handsome in a classic grey suit.
Adding a splash of summery colour to the red carpet was Chloe Bennet, who was lovely in a mint green lace number, as well as Mackenzie Foy, who donned a pale pink jumpsuit which was matched with sparkly high heels and a pale blue clutch purse from Prada.
Director Taika Waititi and Jeff Goldblum, Matt Damon, Chris Hardwick, Elizabeth Henstridge, Jon Favreau and Karl Urban were also in attendance.
