November 8, 2017

Elton John led a parade of celebrities at his annual AIDS Foundation gala on Tuesday night. The Rocket Man singer established the Elton John AIDS Foundation in 1992, as a charity to fund programmes for HIV/AIDS prevention, and marked the 25th anniversary of the organisation with a star-studded bash held at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York.

Elton hit the red carpet in a classic black suit and white shirt but injected some of his flamboyant personal style into the ensemble by pairing the look with a red and blue striped bow tie from Gucci, matching brooch, and round pink glasses. While his husband David Furnish opted for an eye-catching tuxedo embroidered with a green dragon motif.

Diane Lane made a splash when she arrived in a grey gown with off-the-shoulder neckline and delicate gold embroidery, which she accessorised with drop earrings with large opals. Alec Baldwin and his wife Hilaria, who recently announced they are expecting their fourth child together, got dressed up for the night too, with Alec sporting a classic tuxedo and Hilaria in an elegant strapless gown with black sequins on the bodice and black and white striped skirt.

It was a date night for Billy Joel and Alexis Roderick, who welcomed their second daughter together last month, with Billy rocking a tuxedo and his wife looking glamorous in a tangerine-hued silk gown with beaded neckline. TV presenter Padma Lakshmi wowed in a lingerie-inspired black gown with corset top and sheer skirt, while Neil Patrick Harris and his husband David Burtka posed on the red carpet in complementing navy blue suits with matching bow ties.
