But now, in a new interview with Vogue, Victoria Beckham has reflected on some of her iconic stage ensembles during her time with Spice Girls. Admitting she dressed more demurely as a teenager, the mother-of-four explained: "Did I have a perm that was slightly distasteful? Yes. Did I wear strange jeans? Yes.' When asked about her time as a pop star, Victoria added: "Did I look inappropriate ever? Not until the Spice Girls. My mum would never let me go out dressed like that."

The 43-year-old, who is now a global fashion star, went on to reveal that her mother Jackie was her biggest fashion inspiration, thanks to her lavish dinner party ensembles. She recalled: "We weren't allowed to attend so we'd sit on the balcony and watch. Mum had blonde hair and big shoulder pads, there was a lot of velvet, nipped-in waists and 15-denier tights. She was properly dressed for dinner."

The girl group - also starring Emma Bunton, Mel B, Mel C and Geri Horner nee Halliwell - certainly wore some extravagant clothing in their time. Posh Spice was best known for her signature tube mini dresses and latex zip-up one-pieces. Despite feeling some regret over her fashion faux pas, Victoria previously admitted that she feels proud of everything she has achieved. "I look back at the things I've worn in the past and it makes me smile," she said. "It's made me who I am now and part of growing up is trying new things. Some things work, some things don't."
