The MTV Europe Music Awards were held in London on 13 November and it was quite the star-studded event! Held at the Wembley Arena on Sunday evening, it was presented by popstar Rita Ora, who took to the stage as a natural, in a confident relaxed manner as she presented the show. This is the sixth time that the UK has hosted the event, and the second time in the capital city. An abundance of high profile, celebrity A List singers, songwriters and band members attended the celebration, which was filmed for the popular music channel. The celebrity glitterati made a series of outlandish, unique and eye-catching fashion choices as they posed for a sea of photographers and paparazzi on the red carpet. Headlining, show-stopping acts included US rapper Eminem, Liam Payne, U2, Stormzy and Shawn Mendez, who all took to the stage for exclusive performances.
Leading the fashion pack was Demi Lovato, who left the standard little black dress at home, instead opting for an on-trend check suit by Styland. The slightly oversized fit made for a trendy cut, and she decided to go braless underneath, showing a hint of cleavage. She wore her long dark tresses loose, and her dark eyes were made up with smoky eye-makeup.
Lana De Rey looked blooming gorgeous in this floor length maxi Gucci dress, which was emblazoned in an eye-catching flower display. A huge butterfly adorned the top half, and it made for a very sexy stance, particularly with the thigh-high leg split. Her signature red hair was dyed a rich chocolate brown, for a contemporary change.
Pixie Lott showed off her high fashion, designer credentials in this two - piece embossed design by Dolce and Gabbana. The jacquard printed top and trousers featured a bombastic peplum, and the statement print ensured she stood out from the crowd. We love the gold headgear too- a unique finish!
Rita Ora was definitely the surprise style wild card of the evening, showing up to the awards ceremony in a bizarre white robe, which she totally pulled off as a dress! The Paloma Spain coat hugged her sensational curves, and she added a plethora of diamond detail, in the form of a choker and drop earrings. She even completed the look with a towel wrapped delicately around her head, giving the impression she had just stepped (fashionably) out of the shower!
Our very own Laura Whitmore worked the rock chick look styled by Holly Willoughby's favourite stylist Angie Smith. She wore black, tapered, skinny trousers and a studded leather jacket slung delicately over her shoulders. Crystallised shoes by Aruna Seth were the perfect accessory.
Presenter of the moment Maya Jama rocked an achingly cool design from Alexa Chung's line- an oriental inspired, lilac mini dress, complete with a high neck, capped sleeves and pearl buttons. It showed off her endlessly long, toned legs. She added sky-scraper high heel sandals, and on-trend statement earrings.
