Kelly Rowland's stylist Ade Samuel mixed fun with formal for the star's 2017 American Music Awards (AMAs) look on Sunday night. Stepping out in a black velvet Galia Lahav dress with mesh inserts and Jimmy Choo heels, Kelly oozed glamour at the annual music event. Her super long hair was worn straight, and she went for a classic smoky eye when it came to her make-up.
"Working with Kelly Rowland is amazing," Ade gushed to Billboard. "She's the most genuine, so amazing, so sweet. She's so creative. When I think of red carpet for my clients, specifically for Kelly Rowland, I usually like to look at the story they've been telling the whole year. From colour, to silhouette, and things of that nature. You can have a little bit more fun but it's still a formal event where people are expected to look very glamour, and that's what we decided to do today."

The Destiny's Child star's Galia Lahav gown featured billowing sheer sleeves, a thigh-high slit and corset-style front. The pair worked together on choosing the look, with Ade explaining the sheer parts of the dress worked well to help cool the 36-year-old down in the hot Los Angeles sun.
"What I loved about it, and the reason I went towards this, is because it's fall," she continued. "Even though we're in L.A. and the awards are in L.A., we're still discussing what's fashion. Right now, velvet for the fall is one of the biggest trends and being able to kind of show that trend through the red carpet is an idea that I definitely wanted to see go forward with Kelly."
