Tennis ace Serena Williams is thankful to U.S. Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour for helping her settle on the wedding dress of her dreams. The sports champion tied the knot with Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian last week (16Nov17) in a fairytale wedding hosted in New Orleans, Louisiana, and when it came to choosing the gown she would wear while walking down the aisle, the athlete has revealed she leaned on her fashion legend friend for advice.

"For the first dress, when Anna Wintour asked me what I wanted to wear, I said, 'A cape, I just want to wear a cape (sic)," Serena wrote on her Instagram account on Wednesday (22Nov17) in a caption attached to an image of her stunning puffy dress, designed by Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen. "she (Wintour) said: 'well Sarah Burton with @alexandermcqueen is the one for you'," Williams added. "Thanks Anna. Thanks Sarah. I felt like a princess and superwoman all at once." Beautiful bride Serena topped off her Alexander McQueen gown, which came complete with her desired sheer white cape, with $3.5 million (£2.6 million) in diamonds.

But the amazing attire didn't stop with her dream dress - the Olympic gold medallist stunned guests with multiple gorgeous looks on the big day, donning three different outfits throughout. Her second look was a floor length white beaded and feathered Versace number that accentuated her silhouette. Her third dress, which she wore during her first dance with new husband Alexis, was also a Versace piece, only this look was a shorter version of the gown she wore from the Italian fashion house earlier on. To escape from the discomfort of her high heels, Serena also sported a bedazzled pair of Nike Cortez sneakers, slipping into the sparkly crystal-enhanced tennis shoes when she was tearing up the dance floor.
