With less than a month until Christmas, Queen Letizia is already getting festive with her stylish wardrobe. The Spanish royal looked holiday ready as she stepped out on Thursday, November 30, with her husband King Felipe VI to attend a meeting commemorating Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan and Spanish Juan Sebastián Elcano’s 1519 expedition around the world. Letizia donned a vibrant red cardigan by BOSS for the occasion, which she paired with a houndstooth pencil skirt from the same label, in addition to BOSS heels and black stockings. The 45-year-old monarch completed her chic look with Links of London earrings and by styling her glossy lob down straight.

The former journalist and her husband presided over the anniversary meeting at Zarzuela Palace in Madrid. Ferdinand Magellan’s expedition, which was promoted by King Carlos I, aimed at finding a new route to the Spice Island. In a speech on Thursday, King Felipe said, “ An occasion like the one that brings us together today to commemorate that first global milestone of humanity, starring Spain, is a magnificent opportunity to also project the current image of Spain on the outside, as a country that has covered the last decades one of the most intense periods of modernization, openness and influence on the international scene.”
