Meghan Markle stepped out in Nottingham on Friday to undertake her first royal engagement as Prince Harry's fiancée. The former Suits actress looked gorgeous in a navy and cream ensemble, dressed in a blue Mackage coat with a Peter Pan collar, which was teamed with a black polo neck top, a long pleated skirt and a pair of chic knee-high boots. On close inspection, however, Meghan looks to have undergone a subtle style transformation since the royal engagement was announced on Monday. In contrast to her LINE The Label coat – which was cut just above the knee - the 36-year-old opted for a far longer design cut to the ankle, adding a far more conservative look to her ensemble.
Meghan has also already been compared to her future sister-in-law, the Duchess of Cambridge, and paid a notable tribute to the UK on Friday, choosing to wear a skirt from British brand Joseph. Kate herself has been spotted in the high-end label, memorably in 2011 during a visit to Canada – where she wore a champagne-hued dress, and in 2013 at Epsom Derby – where she wore a gorgeous pink coat by the brand.

There are, however, some things that didn’t change for Friday's engagement. Meghan and Harry previously co-ordinated during their debut appearance, both opting for the same colour palette. Harry was dressed in a navy coat, teamed with black trousers and patent black shoes, adding a casual touch with a cream scarf. The couple co-ordinated once again during their debut official appearance together at the Invictus Games in September, where they both stepped out in laid-back jeans.

Meghan has already proved herself to be a style influencer, and her 'effect' is certainly apparent. Line The Label's website crashed moments after she stepped out in the label's white coat on Monday, and within minutes of wearing the navy Mackage number in Nottingham, it sold out online. We can't wait to see her style evolve even more.
