Not ready to say goodbye to summer just yet? Rainbow fashion is still a thing

Fashion that's over the rainbow

Updated: September 20, 2018

The rainbow trend exploded in 2016 and has never really left our fashion radar since. Multi-coloured stripes pack a powerful punch and many high-end designers are taking on the bold hue – including Marc Jacobs, Givenchy, and of course, Gucci. British designer Ashish arguably took the trend mainstream with his abundance of heavily embellished sparkly pieces in a plethora of shades that numerous celebrities have sported. Colourful stripes not only make a statement but they also instantly jazz up any ensemble, meaning you can let the rest of your outfit have a day off! By adding a rainbow top, bag or heels, you are injecting a hunt of colour without looking like Joseph and his amazing technicolour dream coat. We have rounded up our favourite collection of colourful striped pieces that will brighten up your wardrobe in a flash.

Needle & Thread's famous rainbow skirt from SS18 was worn by everyone from Rosie Fortescue to Rita Ora, and we were obsessed with the tulle, the mish-mash of pastel tones and of course, the sparkly petals. Now it's had a fab new update for AW18 – returning in autumnal, rainbow-style cherry shades. Fitted at the waist with the ribbon band and draped detail, it's an amazing party piece that you need in your life.
