Best-dressed celebrities at the Golden Globes 2018

All the looks from the most glamorous night of the year!

January 8, 2018

It's finally here! The Golden Globes 2018 was held at The Beverley Hilton in L.A and as usual, it's a star-studded event attended by the Hollywood elite. This year was slightly different to previous years - the dress code really had a powerful meaning. The world’s most famous actresses and actors donned totally black attire in protest of sexual harassment against women. The unanimous solidarity was greatly received; the black hue drew attention to the sensitive topic and the imbalance of power. The Hollywood Glitterati were encouraged to wear the shade as part of the Time's Up Movement – which is an organization dedicated to preventing sexual harassment and assault in the work place. There were an abundance of incredible gowns and ensembles, with every actress sporting the bold colour in their own unique way – looking totally dazzling in the process. We have rounded up the best looks from the red carpet –  starting with Lily James looked fabulous in ruffle gown by Valentino.

Natalie Portman and America Ferrara

The incredible actresses double up in two sumptuous outfits! It's just been announced that America is pregnant with her first child, and the Ugly Better star covered her bump with a sequin dress and a sleep blazer. Natalie looked incredible in a velvet design by Dior which showed off her lean curves to perfection.

Jessica Chastain

Jessica Chastain was nominated for an award for film Molly's Game, and certainly showed she had serious fashion game and sported a custom made black velvet gown by Armani Prive. It came complete with a sexy bandeau cut and eye-catching silver detail. She topped the look with Piaget jewellery.

Tracee Ellis Ross

The 45-year-old actress made her mark on the red carpet in a top-to-toe satin dress that featured an asymmetric neckline and matching turban by Marc Jacobs. She finished the look with bold red lipstick and statement pearl drop earrings.

Alicia Vikander

The 29-year old Swedish actress went for a gothic, ethereal design by Louis Vuitton which featured sheer sleeves, a lace applique skirt and a pie-crust high neck finish. A plethora of detail is a huge part of the design, and intricate buttons stand out from the neck to the waist. Bulgari jewels were the perfect accessory.

Mary J Blige

The One Love singer added a hint of glitter to her ensemble, which totally made a glamorous statement. The velvet design hugged her voluptuous toned frame and the sparkly mesh inserts gave it a pretty finish. A shimmery clutch bag and a chic up do lets her dress do all the talking.

Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel

The stunning couple left baby Silas at home as they walked the red carpet – Justin looked suave in a smart tuxedo by Dior Homme, complete with a Time's Up pin. Jessica wowed waiting paparazzi in a bombastic gown by Dior Haute Couture. Her brunette locks were teased in a low chignon and Bulgari diamond earrings.

Dakota Johnson

The 29-year-old 50 Shades of Grey star showed off her lean frame in a simple yet stunning velvet gown by Gucci. The dress was broken up with a waist cinching pewter broach style belt, and a tulle lace overlay that formulated into a pretty train. Her make-up was fresh and glowing, and she added classic jewellery including delicate bangles.

Christina Hendricks

The Mad Men star always stands out on the red carpet, and this year's Golden Globes was no exception! Her outfit choice was unique in that it featured a full skirt, and trousers! The 42-year-old redhead looked incredible in the couture gown. Her red locks were swept up in a bun and she added a splash of red lipstick.

Kendall Jenner

The 22-year-old supermodel made her Golden Globes debut in a graduated hem tulle gown that featured a stunning train that draped over the red carpet as she walked. An abundance of taffeta was a huge part of this ballerina-esque design. T-bar shoes were the only accessory that the sister of Kylie Jenner sported.

Sarah Jessica Parker

Channeling her inner Carrie Bradshaw (and let's face it, who else could do it as well?) SJP looked incredible in a fabulous gown that boasted a variety of textures. The skirt featured taffeta, satin and was broken up with a sparkly jeweled belt. The top half of the dress was made from a corset, with attached transparent mesh sleeves. She sported high heels shoes from her own SJP shoe line.

Catherine Zeta-Jones

The Welsh actress looked incredible as she sported a transparent mesh dress by Zuhair Murad. The smattering of lace gave the design an antique, ethereal finish. The deep V-neckline made the most of her enviably toned frame. She added chandelier earrings complete with green stones and windswept hair that gave her that classic old Hollywood glam look.

Angelina Jolie

Angelina makes her big return to the red carpet since her divorce from Brad Pitt – looking gorgeous in a sheer dress that hugged her lean curves. The ruching at the hip accentuated her frame, and the sheer neckline gave the dress a sexy edge. Feather sleeves made a dramatic statement.

Claire Foy

Shunning her regal look for a more androgynous style, The Crown's Claire Foy left her big ballgown at home, instead choosing to wear a fabulously cut suit that was the epitome of androgynous style - giving masculine fashion a definite nod.

Eva Longoria

It was a special evening for Eva – the 42-year-old showed off her baby bump for the very first time on the red carpet and looked totally glowing and the picture of health in the process. The custom, full-length gown was tuxedo inspired and designed by Genny. It featured a subtle split that gave the dress a contemporary edge.

Reese Witherspoon

The stunning blonde actress was nominated for her role in Big Little Lies, and dazzled on the red carpet in a classic style- a floor-length design with an origami cut by Zac Posen. The actress has a penchant for Posen's designs – turning to the label many times before. Decadent Bulgari jewels were added for extra sparkle.

Margot Robbie

The beautiful blonde Wolf of Wall Street star was nominated for I, Tonya and marked the occasion with a deep-cut satin gown by Gucci that featured silver sequin ribbon embroidery. Roger Vivier jewellery and Tiffany & Co. jewellery were her chosen accessories.

Nicole Kidman

Nicole, 50, arrived at the awards with her country singer husband Keith Urban and wowed waiting photographers in a floor-length black design with a semi-sheer embellished top.  Her blonde tresses were piled up high in a chic chignon and a smattering of diamonds were her choice of accessories.

Jennifer Aniston

Jennifer skipped the Golden Globes red carpet on Sunday evening - but she made up for her absence - wowing the crowd as she presented an award with Carol Burnett, wearing a bandeau cut, body-conscious velvet number which hugged her slim frame. She added dainty diamond bracelets and drop earrings.
