Lavender and lilac are the shades to be seen in this year and we are totally loving the pretty pastel hue. Last year was all about the millennial pink – but this year sees the arrival of the cool-toned colour, which has been dominating catwalks for SS18. The paler version of purple is written off as a colour specifically for the elderly, but this couldn't be further from the truth. A pretty lavender top teamed with jeans is the easiest way to inject some much-needed purple picks into any outfit and pastel coloured shoes and bags will give a definite node to the palette without looking like a pack of Palma Violets. Because the colour is so doll-like, it's a good idea to wear it in a non-fussy way – clean lines and tailored items work best – leave the prints at home and stick to one item to jazz up your outfit.
