Nadine Coyle isn't one for airing her dirty linen in public, but when it comes to helping out a good cause, the singer is happy to rummage in her wardrobe. Thankfully, sorting through her gladrags for the Give up Clothes for Good campaign – which is raising funds to fight cancer – revealed some happy memories of her time with chart toppers Girls Aloud. "I found a lot of costumes which were stitched on while we were wearing them," Nadine tells HELLO! "They're glittery rags now."

Among her finds, Nadine, 32, dug out a gold dress that she wore on tour with the band, which she will keep for Anaíya, her three-year-old daughter with former American football player Jason Bell. The little lady may even step into mum's shoes – she is a chip off the old block, says Nadine. "She looks a lot like me and has such an imagination. I have to try to keep up with her. She could use some of the outfits for Halloween when she's  bigger," Nadine adds, laughing. Anaíya has yet to meet the other Girls Aloud offspring – Cheryl Tweedy’s son Bear and Kimberley Walsh's boys Bobby and Cole. "If and when they do meet up, I'm sure she can show them the ropes of toddlerhood," says Nadine.

Sorting through her clobber for the campaign – a partnership between high street favourite TK Maxx and Cancer Research UK Kids & Teens – showed Nadine how her style has changed since being a member of one of the UK’s most successful girlbands. "Things are a lot more versatile now and I just go with the flow," she says. "My clothes are baggier and my shoes are flatter." Nevertheless, Nadine will don her best bib and tucker when her new single is released on 8 February, a follow-up to last year's Go to Work, which is why she's decluttering and taking her unwanted clothes to her local TK Maxx, before they are sent to a Cancer Research store to be sold. Since the scheme began in 2004, more than £32million has been raised.

"January is a great time of year to do it," says Nadine. "Clear everything out and know that you're doing a wonderful thing."
