Saint Laurent
Lavender Bloom
Groundbreaking? Not entirely, but nevertheless, we will gladly welcome flora and fauna with open arms come springtime to breathe some much-needed freshness into our wintry wardrobes. Peter Pilotto does this effortlessly with elegant pastel florals alongside Marc Jacobs, and Dries Van Notens kaleidoscopic palettes and retro-prints are the best examples of why this is the print that keeps on giving.
Performance Pieces
A sportswear/eveningwear fusion may not seem like the most conventional look to pull off, but thanks some very convincing styling at David Koma with sports piping on lace and Isabel Marant's tracksuit styles, we're sold. Re-imagine last season's sequin midi skirt with a cropped hoody, or get some wear out of the shell suit you (reluctantly) invested in by styling with some strappy stiletto's and chandelier earrings.
Fendi
Over The Rainbow
SS18 saw an artistic movement unfold. From comic book artwork at Prada and Calvin Klein to Dolce & Gabbana and Missoni's Rainbow wave effect. Versace's spectacular retrospective show was not to be missed, which featured the same Andy Warhol prints the late Gianni first used in 1991. There is no room for subtlety here, just wear loud and proud.
China Doll
This season, designers journeyed East for inspiration, bringing opulence and exoticism to the forefront of their collections. While oriental fashion as a trend is nothing new - it can be a tricky one to master – opt for silky separates, mandarin collars, wrap fronts and multi texture layer as seen from Prada this season. Style tip: Try layering over slouchy jeans for a cool contemporary twist.
Disco Darling
Sequins, tulle, and deep tones are the centrepieces of SS18 Disco trend. Dior's collection gets you feeling like a 70s disco ball along with Halpern, Altuzarra, and Paco Rabannes ultra glam collections creating the perfect synergy. Gucci's show stopping sequin jumper is one not to be over looked, paired with a sheer delicate skirt would make you look darling or a pair of boyfriend jeans for an everyday disco.
Stripe Nation
How can you go wrong with the classic stripe and while we've obviously seen this trend from seasons past SS18 have mixed it up with altering directions, bold contrasting colours and mismatching stripes as shown by Richard Malone and Kenzo. Fendi has also shown there's nothing better than the doubling up of stripes to make an impact.
Moschino
Under The Sea
Nothing screams spring/summer more than the ocean. The mix of bright and cool tones that we have seen by Michael Kors and Vivienne Tam makes you feel heavenly. House of Holland has cracked this trend with brightly coloured marine detail embroidered denim. The collection also includes bold fluid wave stripes that tie in with the overall surrounding. Who's ready for the beach?
Feathers
This season feathers have fluttered down the runway from the likes of Salvatore Ferragamo and Alberta Ferretti leading the way with entire feather dresses. Margiela and Marques' Almeida follow with light detailing trims that are absolutely dreamy. Nina Ricci shows having a light delicate smattering of feathers is a perfect accent to a summer outfit.
