Is this another contender for ‘dress of the summer’?

We're used to hearing about super-bucks designer 'it' pieces clocking up several-hundred-long waiting lists – not so much mid-range summer dresses. But influencer favourite Kitri has managed to do just that, with the help of fashion influencers and plenty of social hype. Its Gabriella Pleated Shirt Dress only went on sale last Friday, but already has a 800-strong waiting list. The pretty frock is suitable for both daytime and smarter affairs, and is made from emerald green fabric with a sweet monochrome floral print. It features a thin pleated skirt, button-up front, collar and belted waist, and the flattering length just grazes the calves.

The flattering style is ideal for spring

It first sparked interest online after being worn by fashion bloggers such as Charlotte Groeneveld, aka The Fashion Guitar. She was pictured wearing it on the first day of London Fashion Week, and shared a snap of her teaming it with an on-trend puffa jacket and 'dad'-style trainers, which she captioned "embracing spring on the first day of #LFW wearing the new @kitristudio collection dress #kitrigirls".

Followers immediately took note, with one commenting "This look is so on point" and another adding "I love this dress!". Then when it finally went on sale online last Friday it sold out within minutes, forcing the brand to introduce a waiting list.

Since launching a year ago, Kitri has built a strong online following and its celebrity fans include chef Jasmine Helmsley and The End of the F***ing World star Jessy Barden, as well as a whole host of fashion influencers and bloggers. Its well-made yet affordable dresses and jumpsuits usually retail at between £100 and £200.

Another high street frock enjoying some serious hype online is one from high street staple Marks & Spencer. Its white and blue horizontal striped midi-length dress featuring three-quarter sleeves, a wrap-over top and nipped-in waist managed to clock up over 5000 likes as soon as it was posted on the brand's Instagram. It will be on sale in May.
