The NEW HFM is out now - and the brand new cover star is the New York-based model and DJ Alexandra Richards. You might also know her as the daughter of The Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards and Patti Hansen.
The 30-year-old shows off her model skills for the May issue of HFM
Alexandra's first modelling break came along when she was 14, shooting alongside the other Rolling Stones kids - including her sister, Theodora. “It was a campaign for Tommy Hilfiger,” she explains. “A group of us went to Mustique, where he has a house, so it was a really lovely family vibe. I was with Mick’s daughter Lizzy [Jagger], she’s my sister’s age so it was a fun little vibe we had going on. We modelled bikinis and jeans on the beach. And Ally Hilfiger, Tommy’s daughter, was there as well – it was a nice breakthrough into the fashion world.”
Alexandra first realised her parents were famous at school. She told HFM: “I grew up in a very public school [Western High, Connecticut], and there was a lot of teasing going on. Kids would play dad’s music in the playground. That’s when I really got it that dad was on the radio.”

She continued: “The kids would be like, ‘My parents listened to your dad last night when they were cooking in the kitchen’. Then the feeling of being different grew from something really subtle to me suddenly travelling on tour with my parents, to all these beautiful places. Then I’d go back to normality and school with my friends – I think it was then I realised how it is.”
