When guests started arriving at the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in Windsor on Saturday, onlookers were dazzled at the gorgeous outfits on display – from Amal Clooney's canary yellow Stella McCartney number to David Beckham's super sharp Dior Homme three piece suit. But one under-the-radar guest you might have missed was the Duchess of Kent who showed up looking like an absolute joy in her Erdem dress, which she teamed with a cool pair of white trainers. An obvious choice considering Katharine is 85, frail and barely attends events. It was lovely to see her getting to play a part in the couple's special day.
The Duchess, who is married to the Queen's cousin Prince Edward, Duke of Kent, arrived for the ceremony wearing a white and navy floral dress, pearl necklaces, a white cross body bag and a lilac fascinator, plus a pair of super cool flat white lace-up sneakers.

However, she's certainly not the first member of the family to display a love of trainers. Diana, Princess of Wales, was a big fan of sporty Superga trainers, and the Duchess of Cambridge is known to wear the brand regularly too. The comfortable shoes were perfect for Diana's many charity missions, and she was photographed wearing a navy pair of the Superga 2750 Cotu Classics while on a visit to Angola with the Red Cross in 1997.

Duchess Kate has been spotted wearing the exact same style in white, too. The tennis-mad royal wore them while watching the London Marathon in 2017, and teamed them with indigo skinny jeans and a striped top. The pumps retail at just £50 and are wonderfully versatile and go with a wide range of outfits, from tailored trousers to summer dresses.
