Victoria Beckham is a beautiful woman with a great figure who could pull off just about any shade of dress she chooses - so why then does she keep on wearing navy on royal occasions? We have to admit, the star's outfit colour choice has us a little puzzled.
As a guest at the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in Windsor, the fashion designer showcased a slash-front midi dress in navy from her own label Victoria Beckham from her upcoming Pre-SS19 RTW collection with a pocket clutch handbag - also by VB. Indeed, for her last few appearances at royal events, Victoria has opted for the dark blue hue and it seems it's all down to one reason: her apparent desire to blend in with the crowd.
Victoria wore navy to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding
At the wedding of Prince William and Kate in 2011, Victoria chose a navy shift dress from her 2011 Autumn Winter collection. She was pregnant with her daughter Harper at the time so the shade was a chic choice. The busy mum also wore navy to receive her OBE from Buckingham Palace in April 2017 and she dressed in deep blue back in 2003 for her husband David's OBE presentation.

Victoria wore navy at the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's wedding
British wedding dress designer Caroline Castigliano recently suggested that the former Spice Girl wears navy at royal weddings, so as not upstage the bride. Caroline told Marie Claire: "Victoria looks effortlessly chic in a navy outfit. I think she is always very thoughtful in wearing an understated outfit to each royal wedding." Aha! So the mum-of-four may be purposely keeping her dress shade low-key so not too draw too much attention to herself.

In navy once again to collect her OBE at Buckingham Palace
Another factor is Victoria's wish to avoid the colour black. She has previously admitted that she used to love the hue, but now tries to wear other colours. Ok, navy isn't exactly a wild leap away from black, but it's a start. Victoria recently told The Telegraph: "I used to wear a lot of black, so I would never understand why certain people used to say, 'You need to wear colour.' I just thought black was great but now I really enjoy wearing colour. When I see pictures of myself in colour it feels fresh and more useful."

Victoria shared a photograph from the royal wedding on her Instagram page, writing: "Congratulations, an amazing day. So proud to be British! Thank you so much for including @davidbeckham and I. We are so honoured and so happy for you both. x vb."
The designer also revealed that she was thrilled to have a varied outfit choice at this royal wedding. She told the Evening Standard: "Quite honestly, it was such a relief not to be hugely pregnant at this royal wedding that it was a joy to be able to choose anything I wanted to wear."
