If your image of lounge wear for longhaul flights is more leggings and a T-shirt then you'll want to take a look at the amazing new offering from Etihad Airways because complimentary upper class sleepwear has never been so chic.
Etihad has launched a new onboard high fashion collection at the Louvre in Abu Dhabi and we were there to find out ALL about it…
Designed by Emirati brand A Friend of Mine by Xpose - who won Etihad’s competition last November to find local talent to create the onboard collection - the loungewear, which includes a button down top, cropped yoga-style pants and a hooded gown are pieces which you’ll want to wear well after the flight touches down on the runway. Inspired by simplicity, clean lines and traditional Emirati dress, the pieces are made from anti-bacterial and hypoallergenic Modal. Not to mention the fact they’re cleverly crease-resistant and breathable…talk about the perfect low-maintenance throw on.

The launch of the collection took place in The Louvre in Abu Dhabi and was hosted by Lauren Santo Domingo co-founder of luxury e-commerce site, Moda Operandi. A myriad of guests were in attendance including designer Alice Temperley, model and influencer Nick Bateman and Halima Aden – the first model to wear a hijab and walk international runways and be signed to a major agency.

Etihad Airways and Moda Operandi both share a commitment to fashion’s expansion in the Middle East through the support of local designers. While Moda Operandi are exploring e-commerce opportunities with local designers. An exciting introduction that we’re looking forward to seeing more of – particularly after seeing the talent the UAE has to offer.
The only hitch? You’ve got to fly first class to get your hands on this collection...
