Are you wearing a waistcoat right now? Well, a whole host of celebrities are sporting one in support of England Football Manager Gareth Southgate, as our team prepares to face Croatia in the World Cup semi-final. Mr Southgate has worn his trademark waistcoat at each of England's World Cup matches and we have to say, he looks rather dashing in it. M&S report sales of his £65 waistcoat are up 35%.
England fans have been sharing the #WaistcoatWednesday hashtag on social media, posting photos of themselves wearing Gareth's favourite fashion item. Now the likes of Kate Garraway, Charlotte Hawkins and Phillip Schofield have followed, er, suit, and are sporting the smart attire.
The whole Good Morning Britain team donned their waistcoats to cheer on the England side on Wednesday morning. Hosts Susannah Reid, Piers Morgan and Charlotte Hawkins all looked seriously smart in their outfits, while Kate Garraway went that step further in an England T-shirt and wig complete with football on top.
On This Morning, Phillip Schofield was ultra-dapper in his black waistcoat, alongside Holly Willoughby in a black and white spotted dress. Both hosts added England headbands to their looks with the flag painted on their cheeks.
Meanwhile, the Lorraine show posted a throwback snap on its Instagram page of host Lorraine Kelly in a tartan waistcoat years ago, writing: "#WaistcoatWednesday fever has officially hit ahead of #ENGCRO tonight, but did you know that @lorrainekellysmithwas rocking the waistcoat long before Gareth Southgate made it cool?" The TV star also wore a waistcoat on Wednesday in support of the England football boss.
And on Twitter, fans posted their own photos of themselves and their pets - yes pets - in waistcoats. Even M&S's Percy Pig is sporting the must-have fashion item. We're looking forward to seeing Gareth in yet another gorgeous waistcoat at Wednesday's match. It's totally coming home.
