Carole Middleton enjoyed another day out at the Wimbledon tennis championships on Wednesday along with her husband Michael Middleton. The mother of the Duchess of Cambridge wore a gorgeous shirt dress to the sporting event, which may well be one of our favourite ever outfits on her. Perhaps Carole had taken some fashion inspiration from her other daughter Pippa, who wore a Ralph Lauren shirt dress Wimbledon a day earlier. Carole's colourful patterned dress is by high-end brand MaxMara and retails for £415 on matchesfashion.com. It's such a cool, stylish outfit for a hot summer's day and the fit of the dress is so flattering on Carole's figure.

The Ercole shirt dress is by MaxMara's Weekend collection and comes in sizes four to 18. However, it's clearly a popular outfit as when we looked there were only sizes 10 and 16 available and those were low in stock. The dress is made from 100% lightweight silk crepe and features a pink, blue, green and black leaf print. The website reveals it has 'a point collar, bracelet-length sleeves and a detachable tie to cinch the waist.'

Carole teamed the dress with some chic nude wedge heels – a favourite of her daughter Duchess Kate. She carried a quilted bag in taupe and accessorised with some elegant shades – a must for tennis watchers in the royal box!

The previous week, Carole wore a stunning white lace dress to the tennis event. Her outfit was by French label Gerard Darel and it featured mid-length lace sleeves, a lace trim and is made from a broderie anglaise material. She added nude high heel wedges and carried a tan bag from Meli Melo.
