It's that style question that women up and down the country continue to ask: are you ever too old to wear animal print? Some say yes, it's tacky on women over 40, while others say rubbish, you can wear what you want at any age. Fashion guru Trinny Woodall restarted the debate on Thursday's This Morning while presenting the show's daily fashion feature. Trinny, 54, wore a floor-length leopard print dress by Joesph for the segment and totally carried off the sassy look, proving age is just a number. The star looked fantastic in the wild outfit, with her hair in a down wavy style.
It's not just Trinny who thinks animal prints are on-trend – celebrities like Emma Willis, Jennifer Lopez and Caroline Flack have all sported the pattern recently. Admittedly, they all have amazing figures, but the prints aren't just for 20 somethings.
Trinny told show host Ruth Langsford, who was also wearing an animal print dress: "It's no longer a fashion, it's a classic." She added: "I think it's something you can wear anytime. It's definitely a mood-led item of clothing." Trinny admitted that wearing leopard print makes her feel sexier and it's all down to how you style it. She said: "Being over 50, I want to do things that make it chilled, so I wear a white trainer with it that makes it relaxed and a bit fresher.
On Twitter, opinions were divided. One fan of the show wrote: "I finally got a red leopard skin skirt at 46. I always thought it a bit Bet Lynch," while one follower posted, "You have to be young to get away with this fashion."
What do you think? Will you be sporting animal print this summer or should the leopard print stay firmly in the wardrobe?
