An American footwear retailer has created an industry-first, inclusive shopping experience for people with physical differences or disabilities – by allowing its customers to buy single shoes or build their own pairs in different sizes. Shoppers can buy exactly what they need through Zappos' new The Single and Different Size Shoes Test Program, which is aimed at amputees and those with different shoe sizes. Zappos, we applaud you!

According to the brand, customers had been requesting this option for years, with demand growing in 2017 after the launch of the Zappos Adaptive site, which sells shoes and clothing that are designed to be easier to put on or remove, for those with ranging abilities.

Brands available to buy include New Balance, Nike and Converse with around 80 shoe styles and colours available in both adult and children's sizes to choose from. The site also includes helpful videos on how to measure your feet and how to measure a prosthesis.
