Miles Teller sent his fans into a frenzy on Wednesday night when he debuted a bold new makeover. The Whiplash actor was unrecognisable as he hit the ESPYs red carpet, revealing that he had dyed his hair a bold shade of blonde, marking a strong contrast to his trademark brown locks.

The 29-year-old also bleached his eyebrows so that they matched his eye-catching new shade, and fans quickly took to social media to express their surprise at his dramatic new look.

Miles' hair has always been a shade of brown

However, it seems that the Fantastic Four actor may have been keeping his makeover under wraps in recent weeks, and might have dyed his hair as far back as June. At the time, girlfriend Keleigh Sperry shared a sweet black-and-white photo of the couple on Instagram as they shared a tender kiss during a spa day, with Miles appearing to already be rocking his new 'do.

Miles' legions of followers also began speculating that the makeover could be for a new role, however the actor, who is notoriously private, has yet to open up about what prompted him to go for the drastic change.

He's not the only actor to have recently caused a stir with a bold new look. Zac Efron wowed fans when he debuted a bleached blonde hairstyle on Instagram earlier this year.

He later revealed that he initially dyed his hair as part of his role in the upcoming film version of Baywatch, admitting that he ended up keeping the colour longer than planned after mistakenly thinking he would need to re-shoot some scenes post-production.

"I thought I had additional photography in the next upcoming weeks so I just kind of kept it," he told Entertainment Tonight. "And I just talked to the producers and they said that I don't have to reshoot anything for about like a year, so I've just been having it for no reason."
