Luckily Victoria Beckham has a secret cure up her sleeve for when bloating strikes – and it only takes 20 minutes. The mum-of-four says she loves a salt bath, sharing: "Harper often makes an Epsom bath soak for me when I get home from work."

How does a salt bath help with bloating?

Bloat is often caused by water retention from salt and carbohydrates in our body, and magnesium, which is often found in bath salts, helps to rid the body of fluid retention.

Magnesium helps to draw toxins and excess fluids out of the skin, reportedly resulting in a flatter tummy.

"A great way to boost your magnesium levels is to absorb it through your skin in a magnesium salt bath," advises Dr. Sarah Brewer, medical director of Healthspan.

"Bathing in magnesium-rich spa waters is a traditional therapy for many health conditions. Just add a handful of magnesium flakes to your bath water, lie back and relax for 20 to 30 minutes," she advises.
